English goth punk band The Damned will be performing at The Glass House on April 20 as part of the upcoming Coachella Sideshows. The band has been around since 1976, delivering the punk rock for ages, often being noted as the one of the most influential punk groups along with The Clash and the Sex Pistols.
The Damned are mostly known for taking punk’s simplicity and taking it to the next level, providing ambitious albums and high energy live shows that were jammed-packed with rock and roll fury. Formed in 1976 by lead vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist (and later guitarist) Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies, they were the first punk rock band from the United Kingdom to release a single, “New Rose” (1976), release an album, ‘Damned Damned Damned” (1977), and tour the United States.
