Iceland Airwaves has announced the first draft of it’s fall festival lineup. According to Flood Magazine, Headlining the event is English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist PJ Harvey. Julie Holter will also find time in her busy schedule to make the trek north and perform.
The festival, known for drawing in crowds with international acts while providing exposure to homegrown talent, will include locals Mammút, Mr. Silla, Reykjavíkurdætur and Axel Flóvent. More artists are expected to be announced later in the year. The festival spans five days and is sustained by sponsors that include Icelandair and the City of Reykjavík. Since it’s first run in 1999, the event has been praised for its intimate performances and its party atmosphere, and has consequently drawn increasing international attention from music fans, artists, and journalists from all corners of the globe.
Iceland Airwaves will take place November 2–6 in Reykjavik. Tickets are available via Iceland Airwaves.
