The first bands of End of the Road have been revealed, and they’re prolific (and terrific) enough to nearly justify booking a flight to England for Labor Day Weekend. As the 10th annual celebration, the three-day festival will be hosting Animal Collective, Bat for Lashes, Thee Oh Sees, Joanna Newsom, Dr. Dog, Phosphorescent, M. Ward, Goat, Steve Mason, Jeffrey Lewis and Los Bolts, Money, Sunflower Bean and more — and this is just the first round of artists. The festival crew announced the lineup in a YouTube video wearing paper mache animal masks and painting the band names on a wall.
Two and a half hours outside of London, End of the Road will take place at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset from September 2–4. The grounds include five stages (including a “Tipi Stage”), campsites, “healing gardens,” and bars scattered throughout. Early Bird, Tier 2 and Tier 3 tickets are sold out, though Tier 4 tickets are on sale for £195 ($281) for adults and £150 ($216) for 17 and younger. The festival is unique in that it doesn’t charge any transaction fees, just the list price.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the rest of the lineup, and start checking Skyscanner to see if any airline is sympathetic towards festival junkies.
