California native Tori Kelly will be performing at the Greek Theatre as part of her “Unbreakable Tour” that celebrates the release of her debut album “Unbreakable Smile,” released last summer. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 and will see a reissue coming out January 29.
Kelly began singing at age three, took up drums at 12, and asked for the music production software Logic for her fifteenth birthday. In 2009, she borrowed a guitar and posted her first cover, Paramore’s “The Only Exception.” In 2012, Kelly got a major break when her cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You,” went viral, racking up over 22 million views. To date Kelly’s YouTube channel boasts over one million YouTube Subscribers with over 87 million views.
The lead single, “Nobody Love”, was released in the spring and became her first US Billboard Hot 100 appearance. Kelly is currently nominated for Best New Artist at the 58th Grammy Awards. The rising star is definitely on the rise, so be sure to catch her performance at the Greek Theatre in May!
