Willie Nelson is one of the most recognized country-rock acts in his six-decade career. He wrote his first song at age seven and soon joined his first band at age ten. As his success in music began to boom later in college, he decided to make music his focus and continue with D Records. His debut album, …And Then I Wrote, was released in September 1962. Since then, he has written over 200 albums and has sold out shows across the country.
His most recent album, Django And Jimmie, was released in June 2015. It debuted as the #1 Country album and #7 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The record marks the sixth collaboration between Nelson and Merle Haggard. Wall Street Journal calls it a strong, engaging country album with “its fresh, revealing songs, striking harmonies and varying rhythms”
Texas hometown act Willie Nelson will return to Austin City Limits Live for a Family New Year Event. From Tuesday, December 29th through Thursday, December 31st, he will be performing with Kasey Musgraves, Lukas Nelson, and The Promise of the Real.
