The Red Bull Sound Select will be heading to Los Angeles! The headliners include Cerebral Ballzy, Ho99o9 and Fat Tony. The showcase will take place on October 22 at Del Monte Speakeasy in Venice. The Red Bull Sound Select is a monthly live music showcase that highlights the city’s most exciting rising artists. Throughout the year, the showcase visits different LA venues and introduces line ups of artists local to Southern California.
Cerebral Ballzy is band influenced by punk legends Black Flag, Dead Boys, and Bad Brains crafting their own sound since 2010 with the intention of playing music as fast as humanly possible. Their 2011 self-titled debut introduced them to the world with a full US tour along with a slew of top European festival appearances. In 2013, Cerebral Ballzy returned to the studio with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek to begin work on their 2014 release Jaded & Faded.
Fat Tony is a rapper who has collaborated with Das Racist and A$AP Rocky and along with strong regional tours, has earned four consecutive ‘Best Underground Hip-Hop’ awards from the Houston Press.
Ho99o9 (pronounced Horror) is a mix of experimental thrashcore rap with crossover punk. Formed in 2012, the band’s sound is a combination of hip-hop, punk rock, and noise. Ho99o9’s politically incorrect lyrical content has amassed a considerable cult following, covering subjects of blasphemy, necrophilia, drug use, and truth.
