Homegrown L.A. singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe will be performing at The Regent on September 25. The drone-metal-art-folk star is promoting her latest album Abyss, released on August 7. The album is eleven songs that deal with human frailty, intimacy, quiet passion, anxiety, and deep longing.
Wolfe is known for her experimental guitar playing, hazy vocals and surreal soundscapes. With her fifth album, she confronts new boundaries and crafts a score that she describes as the “hazy afterlife… an inverted thunderstorm… the dark backward… the abyss of time.” The album reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker Albums.
