Failure have announced a summer 2015 tour in the United States and Canada, with The New Regime as the opening act.
The tour starts August 18 in Toronto, Ontario, and will come to a close on August 31 in San Francisco, California. Failure, which reunited in 2013 after a hiatus that last about 16 years, released an album in June titled The Heart Is A Monster. They have influenced a number of other artists, some of whom have talked about the importance of Failure. The rock band played at SXSW 2015 in March and toured in July for their album. One of the tracks from The Heart Is A Monster, “Hot Traveler,” was available for free download during a promotion for the album and they later released a music video for the track. Another single from the album is called “Mulholland Dr.”
The New Regime is the name of multi-instrumentalist Ilan Rubin’s solo project, created in 2007. Rubin has performed in bands like Nine Inch Nails, Paramore and Angels & Airwaves, but The New Regime is a project in which he shines. He released his latest album, Exhibit B, in June to critical acclaim. His single from the LP, “We Rise, We Fall,” contained a heavy, mid-tempo beat and smooth vocals from Rubin. Exhibit B is the follow-up to The New Regime’s debut in 2013, fittingly titled Exhibit A. That same year, he recorded one-take tracks for his solo performance of “Say What You Will,” on which he plays all of the instruments.
Though the tour only spans about two weeks of time, the two bands will be making it to Toronto and the Midwest and West Coast of the U.S., which is quite a tall order. See below for the full list of tour dates and the links to buy tickets to see Failure and The New Regime.
