Janelle Monáe will be bringing along her record label contemporaries on a short tour spanning four U.S. cities this August.
The Eephus Tour will be comprised of Roman GianArthur, Deep Cotton, St. Beauty, Jidenna, all whom which are on Monáe’s independent label Wondaland Records, that most recently went in partnership with Epic Records. The venues are TBA, but all shows are free. However, they are invitation only. A few days into the tour, on August 14th, Wondaland Records’ first compilation Ep, ,Wondaland Presents THE EEPHUS, will be released. It features a single from Monáe herself, “Yoga,” as well as a song from tour mate Jidenna. Wondaland records has been described as a “bastion of innovation for creative misfits across the globe to jam to.”
Monáe’s last record release dates back to 2013’s The Electric Lady. She most recently collaborated with Duran Duran on their new single “Pressure Off” from their upcoming album Paper Gods.
