Anyone interested in punk, comedy, food and girls? Then look no further than the Riot Grill Fest at the Regent Theatre featuring four all-girl punk bands: Babes in Toyland, Le Butcherettes, Slutever, and The Menstruators. The event will also include Emmy Award-winning stand-up comedian Sara Schaefer (who will be hosting) and Bitchin’ Kitchen‘s celebrity chef Nadia G.
Riot Grill is the first festival of its kind: a female-fronted fest that brings together punk music, hard-hitting comedy, and delectable grub in celebration of LGBT rights. Babes in Toyland are pioneers of the punk movement and Le Butcherettes are a garage-punk trio hailing from Mexico. Their songs have drawn comparisons to Karen O, Patti Smith, and Bikini Kill.Nadia G’s new riot girl punk band has been compared to L7, Jesus & Mary Chain, and Mazzy Star. Slutever is a Philadelphia brat-punk duo that relishes in the scene of grunge, brash, Riot Girl essence. Schaefer co-stars in MTV’s hit show Nikki & Sara Live, has appeared on Inside Amy Schumer, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show.
Tickets to the Riot Grill Fest are priced at $34.99 to $99.99. VIP tickets give you access to complimentary Nadia G cocktails, open bar from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., free tapas from the Bitchin’ Kitchen Menu, a meet and greet with the bands, a swag bag filled with merchandise designed by Christopher Lee Sauve.
