Indie English rock band Florence + The Machine will be performing at the Santa Barbara Bowl on October 20. The band is celebrating the release of their new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful, which was released June 1. The album reached #1 on iTunes in 18 countries worldwide including the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and more.
The upcoming tour is titled The How Big Tour, and kicks off in Belfast, Northern Ireland on September 9. To promote the album, Florence + The Machine previously made appearances on festivals like Coachella, Big Weekend, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo and Bestival. Glastonbury Festival will be their first festival outing since the release of the album, where they will Headline the Friday night on the Pyramid Stage- standing in for original headliners The Foo Fighters.
Florence and the Machine’s sound has been described as having elements borrowed from indie pop, art rock, and neo soul. Over the years the group has won BRIT Awards and MTV Awards and they look to have an even brighter future. Be sure to check them out when they visit the Santa Barbara Bowl in October.
