New York native band Against the Current will be performing at the Roxy on November 5. The band formed in 2011 and has released three EPs, the latest being Gravity which came out in February this year. The band consists of Chrissy Costanza (lead Vocals), Dan Gow (vocals and guitar), and Will Ferri (drums). They have done many cover songs from artists including Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey. The band is currently signed to Fueled by Ramen.
During the band’s first year, they spent most of their time writing music. It was when the group released the single “Thinking” in 2012 that they grew on YouTube and received additional attention from media outlets to help them blossom their career. The group also worked in collaboration with YouTube talent Alex Goot on a cover of “Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsin. Be sure to check out Against the Current at The Roxy in November.
