Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, musician, actor and talk show host Chris Isaak will be performing at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre on August 15. Isaak will be celebrating more than a quarter of a century into his career. His iconic vocal style has garnered enormous acclaim.
Isaak began performing after he graduated from college, forming the rockabilly band Silvertone. The group, which featured guitarist James Calvin Wilsey, bassist Rowland Salley, and drummer Kenney Dale Johnson, would become the singer/guitarist’s permanent supporting band.
Isaak’s latest album is Beyond the Sun, released in 2011. It captures his obsession with the glory days of Memphis’ visionary artists who got their starts there—including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Isaak pays tribute to the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll with renditions of classics, plus new, original self-penned tunes.
