Dead Moon @ The Mohawk 7/4

Dead Moon is a punk rock band from Oregon. They began in 1987 with the mission to keep rock and roll’s essentials- the electric guitar, powerful drumming, bass, and passioned vocals. The use of dark themes combined with a country and punk influence has made Dead Moon’s music a special brand. The use of stage props has turned into a show ritual, adding to their haunting lyrics.

The group soon became friends with Hans Kestaloo, owner of Maniac Records, who then helped Dead Moon become known to the world. In 2004, a documentary was made on the band called Unknown Passage: The Dead Moon Story. It was screened on independent movie theaters across the United States and featured in Melbourne International Film Fest. Through the years, the band has released over ten studio albums, along with an array of live albums, compilations, and EP’s.

In 2006, the band announced their end. Later in 2014, Dead Moon regrouped and quickly began their continuation of music. Today, they remain inspiring fans through kindness and sincerity. Dedicated to their work, Dead Moon will begin touring once again in the summer of 2015.
