English soul singer, songwriter and actress Joss Stone will be performing at the Fonda Theatre on July 23. She rose to fame in 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album and her second album also went multi-platinum, topping the UK Albums Charts and spawning a top 10 hit.
Stone grew up listening to a wide variety of music including 1960s and 1970s American R&B and soul music. She has adopted also ventured into blues, jazz and funk. Her latest album Water for Your Soul will be released on July 17, 2015. Musically, it incorporates reggae and hip hop with influences from many different genres, including soul, R&B, world, gospel, Latin and even some Indian and Irish influence.
She has won “British Female Solo Artist” and “British Urban Act,” entering the Guinness World Records for being the youngest BRIT Award solo winner at age 17. She has reached incredible heights and is not showing any signs of slowing down. Be sure to catch Joss Stone at the Fonda Theatre in July.
