Failure is an alternative rock band that began in 1990. With the release of their first album, Comfort, they began touring with bands such as Tool. On these tours, Tool guitarist Adam Jones would come on stage to play a Failure track. Building off of the boom from their first two albums, the band met again to create their third, Fantastic Planet. The first single from this album, “Stuck On You,” turned into an alternative-radio hit and became featured on MTV.
The band continued with success on their cover of the song “Enjoy The Silence” on a Depeche Mode tribute album. One of Depeche Mode’s members stated that he liked the cover better than the original version. Then added to the Lollapalooza tour, the band played on the main stage filling in for Korn in 1997. Later that year, however, the band announced their end due to personal differences.
Performing together in 2014, the trio has reunited once again in what some call “the return of the greatest ’90s band you’ve never heard.” Since then, Failure has worked to release their newest album, The Heart Is a Monster. “In ways, I think it’s stronger than it ever was,” says singer and guitarist Greg Edwards on their recent work. The members have rekindled their friendship over the years to now work on their upcoming tour.
