British pop band The Vamps will be performing at Club Nokia on August 8. The band has only been around since 2012, but they have already gone on to have five top ten hits in the UK. The Vamps released their debut single “Can We Dance,” which debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart and their second single “Wild Heart” was released in January 2014 and peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
The Vamps consists of Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals). They first gained fame in late 2012 with cover songs uploaded to YouTube, leading to comparisons to One Direction.
In 2013, The Vamps had their very first gig playing as the support act for McFly on their Arena tour. Simpson said, “Obviously you have aspirations at the beginning. You dream of playing massive shows, but we were so lucky because the first thing we did was go on tour with McFly.” Connor added, “And to be thrown into that and survive is ridiculous!” Be sure to catch The Vamps at Club Nokia in August.
