Chicago-natives Veruca Salt will be performing at the El Rey Theatre on July 11. The band consists of all original members Nine Gordon (guitar/vocals), Louise Post (guitar/vocals), Steve Lack (bass), and Jim Shapiro (drums). The band announced its reunion on March 15, 2013.
Veruca Salt released MMXIV, the band’s first release with the original lineup since Eight Arms to Hold You in 1997. It was released on vinyl for Record Store Day 2014. The song also featured “Seether,” which was originally released in 1994 and peaked at #8 on the Modern Rock Charts.
Veruca Salt was one of the first female-fronted outfits to achieve stardom in the pop punk genre. Through multiple lineup changes the band has gone back to its original members and is looking to release a new full length album this year. Get ready to witness the new era of Veruca Salt.
