Hard rock band Boston will be playing at the LA Forum on July 26. The band broke onto the scene when it released its first album Boston 1976, spawning the big hits “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind” and “Foreplay/Long Time.” The groups most recent was album was Life, Love, and Hope released in 2013. Altogether, Boston has sold over 31 million albums in the United States.
The group first formed in the mind of Tom Scholz, who was a rock fan throughout his teen years and wrote songs while earning a master’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After graduation, he began work for Polaroid, and constructed his own 12-track recording studio in the basement of his home. After releasing its first album, Boston immediately shot up the top of the charts and forever remained as one of the most important rock bands to emerge from the 70s.
Boston’s music is considered to be hard rock and progressive rock. Tom Scholz’s blend of musical styles ranges from classical to 1960s English pop, which has resulted in a unique sound. To catch Boston, be sure to see them at the Forum in July.
