Whitesnake @ Saban Theatre 6/9

English rock band Whitesnake will be performing at the Saban Theatre on June 9. The band’s upcoming album The Purple Album will be released on May 19, consisting of remakes of Deep Purple songs. The group has been nominated for past awards such as the Brit Award for Best British Group, and was named the 85th greatest hard rock band of all time by VH1.

Whitesnake formed in 1978 by David Coverdale, who previously fronted Deep Purple. The band split up in the early 90s but reformed in 1994, releasing a one-off album in 1997. Having been officially reformed in 2002 and touring together since, Whitesnake has released two studio albums, Good to Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011).

Whitesnake is known for its major hits “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love,” which was released on their self titled album in 1987. That album ended up reaching number one and two on the Hot 100 and went eight times platinum, cementing Whitesnake as a one of the most popular hard rock bands of the 80s. To relive the glory days, check out Whitesnake at the Saban Theatre.
