Singer songwriter Neil Diamond will perform at the Hollywood Bowl on May 19. From the 1960s to the 1980s, Diamond was one of the more successful pop music performers, scoring a number of hits. His most recent release is Melody Road in 2014, which ranked high on multiple charts, including #8 on the Australian Albums ARIA.
Diamond is one of the most successful adult contemporary artists on the Billboard charts of all time, only behind Elton John and Barbara Streisand. Along with being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984, Diamond was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. In 2000, Diamond was given its Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award. He has sold over 125 million records worldwide.
Diamond said that his album Melody Road was fueled by the relationship with his latest wife Katie McNeil, explaining: “There’s no better inspiration or motivation for work than being in love. It’s what you dream of as a creative person.
