It became a mini Rilo Miley reunion of sorts when Blake Sennett walked on stage to perform “Portions for Foxes” with Jenny Lewis at Coachella on Sunday, April 12th. Without Dave Rock and Pierre de Reeder making it a complete reunion, and in spite of the group’s break up, the crowd’s roar signified how prevalent the old songs are still. Blake Sennett was the lead guitarist for the indie rock band Rilo Miley and the lead guitar and vocalist for the alternative rock group The Elected. His numerous experimental bands has led him to another super cool rock group called Night Terrors of 1927. The band got a chance to perform on the Gobi stage on Sunday and recently released their studio album under Atlantic Records, Everything’s Coming Up Roses .
Jenny Lewis bringing out Blake Sennett ranked one of the top performances easily. The atmosphere of the festival was high and had great energy behind the surprise performance with Black Sennett on Jenny Lewis set. Rilo Miley was an indie rock band based in Los Angeles, a city that is no stranger to platforming the top rock bands across the globe. The indie rock diva Jenny Lewis is a Coachella legend and known for her entertainment versatility. Every adult-kid’s dream was to appear on the Jell-O commercials, and Lewis made this accomplishment while making several appearances on shows and movies such as Growing Pains, Roseanne and Pleasantville. In January, Jenny Lewis announced her Spring 2015 tour dates in support of her new album The Voyage. According to Rolling Stone, The Voyager she was significantly deep and full of openness about her trying times in life. Her style in recent photos taken by Autumn De Wilde gave a feminine rock appeal which she called a “graffiti Gram Parsons” and described as “androgynous” in an interview with Vogue. Her eccentric vibes and fashion was intentional and inspired to parallel her physical vision with her very sentimental album content.
Jenny Lewis was on her bring’em out steez! One-hundred percent of the pop rock Los Angeles based group, HAIM, came on to the stage to perform her new charming hit song called “Girl On Girl.” HAIM consists of drummer Dash Hutton and run by sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim. Lewis’ newest hit was recently premiered at a benefit concert for HAIM’s late friend earlier in the month. If you didn’t get a chance to make it to Coachella to see Lewis, she is on tour with Ryan Adams. Jenny Lewis will also be gracing Coachella for its second weekend on this upcoming Sunday, April 19th.
