Goldenvoice Presents Coachella, now available on Qello, is a documentary exploring the history of the Coachella Valley in California and the formation of one of the biggest music festivals in the United States.
Goldenvoice was acquired by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), a leading sporting and music entertainment presenter in the U.S. Goldenvoice was the company that always promoted the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The documentary begins with archived footage of an older man talking about the history of Indio, California, and the Coachella Valley as a whole, when it was a small community. He watched the community grow, as people planted the first palm trees and citrus trees in the region. Then it cuts to a timelapse of the sunrise over the Coachella Valley.
The documentary utilizes video footage of all types of music fans that attend the Coachella Festival, as well as scenes from the shows played throughout the festival’s history, including artists like Radiohead and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. There is also footage of other activities that take place there, like robot fights. Interviews with festivalgoers, Goldenvoice employees and artists who have played at the festival. The full runtime of the documentary is about two hours.
