Almost fifteen years ago, American rock band Jack Off Jill comprised of singer Jessicka, Tenni Arslanyan, Robin Moulder and Michelle Oliver made the decision to split after eight years of performing. Now the women of Jack Off Jill have confirmed that they will return to the stage for one last U.S. show. Jack Off Jill will reunite on Saturday, July 18 at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.
In celebration of the reunion, the band will also host a weekend-long party. On Friday, July 17th the band will have a signing and pop-up store at The Odditorium, courtesy of Los Angeles-based visual artist Camille Rose Garcia. Garcia plans to unveil a new mural she created exclusively for the reunion. Following the event, Daisy Berkowitz (founding member of Marilyn Manson) will provide a rare solo performance. Other special appearances planned for the weekend include JD Samson of Le Tigre, Allison Wolfe of Bratmobile and Lori Babero of Babes in Toyland.
In 1992, Jack Off Jill got its start in South Florida, unleashing a form of music that embraced the visceral nature of live rock shows. Eventually the band reached international acclaim from a crowd that adored the sounds of rockers such as Marilyn Manson, the Lunachicks, Lords of Acid, Babes in Toyland, Joan Jett, L7 and 7 Year Bitch.
“This is not only a reunion, but a way for us to gather some of our favorite people in one place to celebrate what was and what should have been. Much like a cat, I have a need to escape, adventure, and sometimes even disappear for long periods of time…but I know my way home. And my home is on stage with my remarkably talented friends,” singer Jessicka Addams said of the show via a press release.
Tickets for the show will go on sale April 24th at noon EST via the Orange Peel’s website. Tickets will be $20 advanced, or $25 the day of the show.
