Tyler, The Creator is an American rapper and record producer from California. He was born in Ladera Heights, and rose to prominence as the leader and c0-founder of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future. Tyler has rapped on and produced songs for nearly every Odd Future release. He also creates all the artwork for their releases and merchandise.
Tyler released his own debut album Goblin under XL Recordings in 2011. He signed a joint venture deal for him and his label Odd Future Records with RED Distribution and Sony Music Entertainment. His second album, Wolf, which reached number three on the Billboard 200 selling over 90 thousand copies in its first week.
Last time Tyler was in Austin, he was arrested at the airport for inciting a riot during his performance at SXSW, He was charged with a Riot-Class A misdemeanor and his bond was set at 25 thousand dollars. He was released 3 days later.
