Sick of Sarah 5/12 @ The Roxy

All-girl power pop band Sick of Sarah will be performing at the Roxy on May 12. The band formed in 2005 with Abisha Uhl (lead vocals and guitar), Katie Murphy (vocals and lead guitar), Jessie Farmer (bass and vocals), and Brooke Svanes (drums). Jamie Holm joined as a bassist in 2008, switching Farmer to playing guitar.

The Minneapolis-based band is one of the most torrented bands of all time. Sick of Sarah released their latest album 2205 through BitTorrent’s pilot program, Featured Artists. The release has been downloaded over 1.7 million times. It was the band’s idea to approach BitTorrent to help promote their album and it worked out.

Some of the band’s releases over the years include Los Angeles 2006, Bittersweet, The Best Thing and Overexposure. Because of the punk, alt-rock vibe of the band, they have drawn comparisons to Dollyrots and Tegan and Sara. Be sure to check them out at The Roxy in May.
