Shania Twain will visit Staples Center as she embarks on her “Rock This Country Tour” on August 20. This tour is her first in 11 years and will serve as her final farewell tour. Kicking off on June 5 in Seattle, this tour will precede the release of her fifth studio album and will feature Gavin DeGraw as opener. Although this will be her last tour, Twain confirmed on The Morning Show on March 6 that she is not retiring from her music career after the tour.
The Canadian singer-songwriter has been called the “Queen of Country Pop” and has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. All of Twain’s albums have been certified Platinum by the RIAA: Twain’s first self-titled album reached Platinum; her second album The Woman in Me went 12 times Platinum; her third album Come On Over achieved 20 times Platinum; and her fourth album Up! was certified 11 times Platinum. Her singles have dominated the Canadian pop charts her entire career.
Throughout the years, Twain has won numerous including the 1999 Entertainer of the Year Award by the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, becoming the first non-U.S. citizen to win it. In 2002, Twain was ranked as number 7 in Country Music Television’s 40 Greatest Women in Country Music. The following year, she was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame.This will be the last time to see her on tour so don’t miss out!
