Colombian pop rock star Juanez will perform at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on July 31 and August 1. The Latin musician has been active in the music since he started his own metal band in 1988 called Ekhymosis. During that time the band released five studio albums but Juanes decided to leave after the band failed to make any impact outside of Colombia. Juanes decided to pursue a career as a solo artist in 1998.
Since then, Juanes has released a total of six solo studio albums, with his latest being Loco de Amor released in 2014. Throughout the years he has won Grammy Awards for Best Latin Pop Album for two of his albums as well as 20 Latin Grammy and eight Latin Grammy nominations. Juanes has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide.
Aside from his career as a musician, Juanes is an avid activist. He established the Mi Sangre Foundation to help victims of anti-personnel mines and was honored as a Goodwill Ambassador for United for Colombia, a non-profit organization that raises awareness about the impact of land mines within Colombia. Juanes has also held several “Peace without Borders” concerts in Havana. Check out Juanes as he visits LA Live in July and August.
