Music from all fourteen games of Final Fantasy will get the full orchestral treatment by the Distant Worlds Philharmonic Orchestra at the Nokia Theatre LA LIVE on June 17. In attendance will be Grammy-Award winning conductor Arnie Roth, featured vocalist Susan Calloway, and Final Fantasy XII composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. The concerts are performed by symphony orchestra, choir, and vocal and instrumental soloists. An HD video presentation of exclusive content from game developers Square Enix will be shown.
The origins of the concert began in 2002, where the first Final Fantasy concert was held in Japan. Following the tour, a six city tour in Japan in 2004 was held. It was in the following year that the concert finally made its way into the U.S. Over the years, Distant Worlds has performed regularly in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In addition to the world tours, there have been two CD releases and a live concert DVD from Japan 2010.
To enhance the experience, a VIP experience is offered by Club Nokia. The VIP package includes a seat in front of the orchestra section, a preferred parking space in the lot closest to the Nokia Theatre, priority check in entrance, pre-show hospitality (beer, wine and soft drinks) in the VIP lounge for two hours, and amenities throughout the show. Fans of the games or orchestral performances should not miss out on Distant Worlds.
