Milky Chance will bring the folk, reggae and electronica to the Mayan Theatre along with LANY and Mighty Oaks on April 16. Milky Chance formed in 2012 and enjoyed success with their single “Stolen Dance,” which won Best Single by 1Live Krone in 2013. The track also has a music video that has reached more than 124 million views. The group also won Best Album by the European Border Breakers Awards in 2015 for their debut album Sadnecessary.
Milky Chance is made up of Clemens Rehbein (vocals and instrumentals) and Philipp Dausch (production and DJing) who both hail from Kassel, Germany. The two played together in a local band, but the group disbanded and Rehbein and Dausch continued on as a duo. Their hit single “Stolen Dance” came as a surprise to the band. They uploaded the song on YouTube after finishing their debut album and it became a viral hit.
Last year, Milky Chance was on tour in Germany and they played at music festivals including Dockville Festival in Hamburg. This year they will be playing at Coachella. This duo’s on the rise, so be sure to check them out while you can!
