Spoon the band will be heading to The Wiltern in May as they continue to promote their eighth studio album They Want My Soul released August last year. The indie rock band from Austin, Texas, currently features Britt Daniel (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard, percussion), Jim Eno (drums, percussion), Alex Fischel (keyboards, guitar, Celeste, backing vocals), Eric Harvey (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar, samples and percussion), and Rob Pope (bass guitar and backing vocals).
Spoon started touring the current tour in February. The latest shows from the band include songs mostly from the 2007 album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga and They Want My Soul, which ranked at 4 on the US Billboard 200. All three singles from their latest album ranked on the US Rock Songs chart, a first time for the band.
In the past, Spoon were musical guests during “The Daily Show’s Democalypse 2014: South by South Mess” and Conan O’Brien’s “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.” Lead singer Daniel also wrote much of the soundtrack to the 2006 film “Stranger than Fiction.” Their music has also been features on shows like Bones, The Simpsons, and Veronica Mars.
