Twenty-year old French prodigy Madeon will be bringing down the house with electro pop at El Rey Theatre on April 15. Madeon is rising to international fame and shows no signs of slowing down. In 2012, he was invited to perform at four major American festivals including Coachella in California, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Electric Daisy Carnival in New York and the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. He will be on tour supporting his latest album Adventure due out this March.
Madeon first achieved fame when he won a remix competition for “The Island” by drum’n’bass band Pendulum. He later uploaded a Youtube video featuring him performing on his Novation Launchpad in July 2011. In the video, he live mixed 39 samples into three and a half minutes of music. The video currently has more than 27 million views. Madeon has also been featured on Pete Tong’s “15 Minutes of Fame” segment on his BBC Radio 1 show.
The first single off of Adventure “Imperium” charted up to 32 on the UK Dance Charts and 142 on the UK Singles Chart. The album features guest appearances by Passion Pit, Dan Smith, Mark Foster, and Aquilo. Madeon has gone from supporting Lady Gaga during her “Born This Way” tour and worked with her on three of her tracks from her album ARTPOP. He has even received support from Deadmau5, Skrillex, Knife Party, Zedd, and Diplo for him to remix their songs.
