Faith No More have been back in the spotlight with new upcoming releases for 2015. Take a look at their North American tour schedule and what they’re up to this year.
Faith No More have announced another round of tour dates following their February stint in Japan and Australia. These new tour dates will be the first for the band in the United States in four years.
For some cities, this will mean the first live performances from Faith No More since their initial breakup in 1998. Take a look below for the full list of scheduled North American tour dates set for Spring 2015.
The band isn’t simply going on a nostalgia trip with this new tour. They announced this fall that they already have ten new songs recorded for their upcoming new album. As their first new release in 18 years, fans have been waiting anxiously for news about the as-of-yet untitled album. The band hasn’t confirmed whether they will perform new songs on this tour, but they have a history of debuting their latest work live before hitting the studio.
On the heels of this tour announcement, the band also announced a new single set for March 17, 2015. The band first performed the single “Superhero” at the British Summertime Festival on July 4. Follow this link to watch the video of their second live performance of this song at a surprise show at Amoeba Records this fall.
In March, the band will release the first-ever studio recording of “Superhero,” two months before the full album will be released. So far the release date is set for May 2015, one month later than expected. The band initially reported an April 2015 release date, but has since pushed it back.
While “Superhero” is one of the first new studio recordings from the band in nearly two decades, you can take a listen to the first piece of new music released from these prog metal titans right here. Their latest track “Motherfucker” was the first new studio release since their 1997 recording of Album of the Year.
These new announcements are only the tip of the iceberg for what Faith No More have been working on this year. The band is set to headline Sonisphere Italy in June this year. Singer Mike Patton has also been hard at work with his new project Tetema featuring Anthony Pateras.
