Sufjan Stevens Announces Spring 2015 Tour Dates

Sufjan Stevens is set to tour North America this April in promotion of his new album.

Folk songwriter Sufjan Stevens has announced a new Spring 2015 tour beginning in April, in promotion of his latest album Carrie & Lowell, out in March.

The new album, the Detroit-born singer’s first since 2010, is being released on Asthmatic Kitty Records, a label started by Stevens and his step-father. Beginning in Holland, Michigan in 1999, the label has since spread across the country, to Wyoming, Indiana, and New York.

Carrie & Lowell features musicians Stevens has recently worked with in between his releases, including Casey Foubert, Laura Veirs, Nedelle Torrisi, Sean Carey, Ben Lester and Thomas Bartlett. The new album is named after Stevens’ mother and stepfather, and addresses life and death, and love and loss.

Stevens has kept busy since his last release, The Age of Adz, in 2010. Stevens released a collection of biblical-themed songs, an electronic album for animals of the Chinese zodiac, and a Christmas album.

Stevens’ upcoming album Carrie & Lowell, will be released March 31st, and Stevens will begin his Spring tour in April in Philadelphia.
