Fall Out Boy is an American rock band that originated from Chicago’s hardcore punk scene. Their debut independent album, Take This to Your Grave, was released with Fueled by Ramen in 2003. Their breakthrough album, From Under the Cork Tree, was released in 2005. From Under the Cork Tree held their first two hit singles “Sugar We’re Going Down” and “Dance Dance.” Music videos were released for both singles and have reached over 21 million views on Fall Out Boy’s official YouTube account.  The album was later announced double platinum. Their next album release was in 2007 withInfinity on High, which landed No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 chart. The album produced hit singles “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s an Arms Race” and “Thnks fr th Mmrs.” After the bands fourth album release of Folie a Deux, they received mixed responses from fans and essentially undersold expectations.

In 2009, the band announced their hiatus. During the hiatus, band members pursued individual musical interests. Andrew Hurley, drummer of Fall Out Boy stated,”The hiatus was, all things considered, beneficial for the group and its members…The hiatus helped them all kind of figure themselves out…Especially Joe and Patrick, who were so young. And Pete is a million times better.” By 2012, the band got back together with original members and put together an entire album that was recorded in secrecy from the music industry, critics and fans. In 2013, they announced a reunion tour and their latest album,Save Rock and Roll. The album hit Billboard 200 at No. 1, which was their second album to achieve No. 1 on the chart. Rolling Stone noted the comeback as a ”rather stunning renaissance,” and Entertainment Weekly called Fall Out Boy’s album a “major accomplishment for a band whom many in the industry had dismissed as kings of a genre whose time had passed.”

Fall Out Boy’s latest album American Beauty/American Psycho, is their sisxth studio album. The album was released last week on January 20 on Island Records & DCD2 Records. The records first single “Centuries” was certified platinum.
