Halsey and Young Rising Sons are teaming up to take over the US on their upcoming The American Youth Tour. They’ll hit the road this spring, kicking things off in LA on March 11th. Halsey and Young Rising Sons will make their way to Philly towards the tail end of the coast-to-coast tour, with a stop at Underground Arts on March 31st! They’ll wrap everything up a few days later, when the tour comes to an end in Boston on April 3rd.
Halsey is out supporting her debut EP Room 93. It was early in 2014 when Halsey (aka Ashley Frangipane) went into the recording studio to record “Ghost.” A track that would go on to be streamed over 450,000 times on Soundcloud. Next up was her hit track “Hurricane.” Both tracks are featured on Room 93, a 5-song visual EP, meaning that each song comes with its own video. The songs, she says, are inspired by her time spent in hotel rooms. Halsey says, “I spent the past year of my life in and out of hotel rooms and I’ve formed relationships with people out of hotel rooms. It’s kind of an exhausting and fascinating and interesting phenomena.” So along with that theme, the videos from Room 93 each focus on a group of people in a hotel room. Her album is set to be released sometime this year and is being described as “heavily conceptual and visual in a way that the EP couldn’t afford to be because of how short it was.”
The other act on the bill is Young Rising Sons, a band out of New Jersey. They released their debut single, “High,” in July of 2014. The song, and it’s video, went viral, hitting #1 on Hypem Twitter. The band would go on to sign with Interscope REcords and release a 4-track EP. They have toured with a several bands, most recently making a stop in Philly for their supporting slot playing for The 1975’s sold out Tower Theater show. They’ve also toured with The Griswolds, Miniature Tigers, Little Daylight, Weezer, Kongos, and The Neighbourhood. Their debut full-length is due some time early this year.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 9th.
