NOFX’s Fat Mike Says He Has Written A Punk Musical

Fat Mike will shortly be adding a Broadway musical to his already vast repertoire.

Broadway has seen a wide array of genres grace its stages over the years, but up until now, punk rock has been a far cry from the plays and musicals that have made it famous. NOFX frontman Fat Mike has recently confirmed that he will bring punk rock to the Broadway theaters sometime next year. The musical, titled Home Street Home, will feature a storyline that embodies almost everything that punk rock stands for: rebellion, isolation, and self-discovery. The story involves a group of runaways that struggle with life on the streets while simultaneously trying to find their own ways in life. The soundtrack to the musical will be available on February 10th and will feature a diverse lineup of musical guests, including actor Lena Hall, who is more popularly known for the cross-dressing musical Hedwig and the Angry Itch. In addition to Hall’s contributions, the soundtrack will also feature such musical talent as Makk Skiba, Stacy Dee, and Tony Sly.

Fat Mike will handle the musical direction for the project, which will be directed by Richard Israel and was co-created by Tony award-winner Jeff Marx.
