Charli XCX has released a new song “Breaking Up”. “Breaking Up” is a single from Charli’s new album Sucker which is set for release on December 16.
According to SPIN, “The track continues the British singer’s brat-pop inspired streak of singles, including the tough-as-nails “London Queen” and the jangling “Gold Coins.” Charli’s vocals are scratchy and strong, filled with personality as she chomps down on her ex-bashing lyrics”.
“Breaking Up”‘s pop style is reminiscent of an early ‘90s very upbeat pop song. The lyrics are catchy and the chorus of the song rhymes with emphasis on those words as Charli sings. She uses the song to sing about a failed relationship. In the chorus she sings, “Everything was wrong with you/ So breaking up was easy to do/ Hated your friends and your family too/ So breaking up was easy to do”.
Charli XCX recently performed at the American Music Awards. During the awards show she performed her hit singles “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules”. Fans can listen to Charli XCX’s new song “Breaking Up” below. Additional information about Charli XCX can be found on her official website.
