We’re now privy to another song off Charli XCX’s upcoming Sucker LP- “London Queen.”
Rising star Charli XCX has released new song, “London Queen.” Her new album, Sucker was originally coming out on the 21st of this month, but the new release date is December 16 in the US.
After “Break the Rules” and the smash hit “Boom Clap,” this is the third song off the upcoming LP.
“London Queen” is the result of a collaboration with Justin Raisen. Raisen is an American songwriter, producer, recording engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has co-written/produced for Sky Ferreira, Sara Quin (of Tegan and Sara), Tehophilus London, and Yadi. This is his second time collaborating with Charli XCX; the first time was on her album True Romance. Of working with Raisen, Charli XCX said:
Justin Raisen is one of the most amazing producers around right now, and he’s going to blow the fuck up in the next couple of years. That’s something that I would never usually do, take a song that’s basically almost been written for me, but it was a song that Justin made, and I was like, fuck, this song is so good and it feels like it’s about me.
It certainly makes sense that it feels like it’s about the new star. It’s all about living large, living it up, and as the lyrics say, “living the dream like a London queen.” It’s upbeat, punk-peppy and a bit retro even with all the electronic elements. Rolling Stone calls it a “new wave gem.”
The 22 year old will share more tracks off the new LP as she continues her US tour. She will perform at Webster Hall in New York City tomorrow.
