Arcade Fire, The Strokes And Bon Iver Members Play Basketball And Music For Charity

During this year’s Pop Montréal festival, Arcade Fire and others played a charity basketball game: Pop vs Jock.

The basketball charity event has been in place for the past three years, and was organized by Arcade Fire’s Win and Will Butler. This game was also the mark of the end of the band’s world tour.

The Team Pop side had Win and Will, Régine Chassagne, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Nikolai Fraiture from the Strokes, and Slam Dunk Contest winner Brent Barry. Matt Bonner of the San Antonio Spurs was the team captain. Team Pop did quite well, winning the game 101-92.

In a fitting fashion for a team called Pop, the musicians in basketball gear began the game by performing a karaoke version of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.” But apparently Phil wasn’t enough- Team Pop also did a quick cover of “Seven Nation Army.”

You can find the video of the covers below, and check out Arcade Fire’s other recent covers here.
