David Ryan Adams is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. He is best known for his prolific solo career, and as a former member of the alternative-country band Whiskeytown, with whom he was with over 10 years. Adams has also released five albums with the rock band The Cardinals.
In 2000, Adams departed from the band and released his first solo album, Heartbreaker. The album was nominated for the Shortlist Music Prize. In 2001, Adams released the UK certified gold album, Gold, which included his hit single “New York, New York.” After a short break from his music career, Adams resumed in the music scene and released his studio album, Ashes & Fire, in 2011. The album peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200.
His latest album, Ryan Adams, was released last week on PAX AM. The first single off of the album was titled “Gimme Something Good.” Entertainment Weekly commented on the new single and stated “‘Gimme Something Good’ scorches with Stonesian bravado and a fist-pump-worthy chorus.”
