Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, known by his stage name Joey Badass (stylized as Joey Bada$$), is an American hip hop recording artist from Brooklyn, New York. He is a co-founder of the hip-hop collective Pro Era, which he has released three mixtapes. His debut mixtape, 1999, was released in 2012. His two follow up mixtapes were titled, Rejex and Summer Knights, and were released the next year. He is currently working on completing his debut studio album, B4.Da.$$, which is set to be released this year. In support of his new album, Joey will be hitting the road to tour the nation. The 36-date tour run begins on September 26, and touches cities in both USA and Canada.
In 2013, Joey released his first commercial project via Cinematic Music Group, Relentless Records, and RED Distribution. The project was a seven track EP titled, Summer Knights. Upon release, the EP debuted at number 48 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
His latest work currently does not have a release date, however XXL listed the release to be one of the “25 Most Anticipated Albums of 2014.” Last month, Joey released his first single off his debut album titled “Big Dusty.” A week later the music video was released.
