Jenny Lewis @ Terminal 5 11/05

Jenny Lewis is known for her role as the leading lady of Rilo Kiley. Bandmates Blake Sennett, Dave Rock and Pierre De Reeder formed the band with Lewis in 1998. Jason Bosel eventually replaced Rock. Together they wrote two records. Their debut More Adventurous came out in 2004, after the band was signed by Warner Brothers’s imprint Brute/Beaute Records. It was followed up by Under the Blacklight which was released in 2007 off of Warner Brothers itself. In 2011 the band broke up.

Lewis had begun a solo career in 2004, recording Rabbit Fur Coat. The record was released in 2006 and includes the track “Portions for Foxes.” Chandra and Leigh Watson, better known as The Watson Twins, worked with Lewis on the album and toured with her after its release. Her second album Acid Tongue came out in two years later. Most recently Lewis released The Voyager. The album came out in 2014 and includes the single “One of the Boys.” Her first release was on Conor Oberst’s Team Love, but Lewis moved to Warner Brother/Rough Trade for her second album and finally Warner Brothers for her third.
