Run The Jewels, the rap duo of El-P and Killer Mike, have announced they will release their sophomore album via Mass Appeal Records on October 28th, 2014. The album is called, RTJ2, and the duo released a new single as well this week, “Blockbuster Night Part 1.”
The new album contains guest appearances by Zack de la Rocha and Travis Barker, with more special guests to be announced. However, the duo maintains that this project is about their partnership.
“We are very excited to bring you the next chapter of Run The Jewels via the good folks at Mass Appeal,” said El-P, in a press release. “We can make no promises about the safety of any animals involved in the creation of this record.” And, Killer Mike added, “It is the best rap group album since RTJ1!”
To go along with the announcement of a new album, Run The Jewels have shared the full version of “Blockbuster Night Part 1”. A snippet of the track had been making the rounds online in recent weeks, and was well received by the duo’s audience.

RTJ2 will be preceded by the duo’s highly awaited contribution to the Single Series by Adult Swim on September 15, 2014.
And, at this time the rappers have announced three U.S. festival dates, with more dates to be announced in the future.
