FKA Twigs is headed out on a North American tour this fall in support of her debut LP. The tour kicks off in DC at the beginning of November, and sees FKA Twigs heading to Philly the following night. FKA Twigs is already being dubbed “music’s new it-girl,” which is not surprising given the early praise from her new release. It might surprirse some to learn that the momentum for the English performer has been building for a while now. She released critically acclaimed EPs in 2012 and 2013. She’s garnered a ton of attention online, and it seems that her offline celebrity is finally starting to catch up. She recently made it onto BBC’s Sound of 2014 list. (She was joined by the likes of Chance the Rapper, Jungle, BANKS, and current superstar Sam Smith).
FKA Twigs released her highly anticipated debut just last week. The appropriately titled LP1 is already gaining quite a bit of buzz. Her first single, “Two Weeks,” went to number 1 on Billboard‘s Trending 140 list. And the 26-yearold singer/songwriter isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
