Superjoint Ritual To Reunite At Housecore Horror Film Festival

For everyone looking for a night of horror, metal and the reunion of the band Superjoint Ritual, Philip Anselmo of Pantera and Down announced that he will reunite with the abbreviated Superjoint, for legal reasons, at this year’s Housecore Horror Film Festival.

According to Blabbermouth, the festival which Anselmo and the best-selling true crime author Corey Mitchell have combined forces to create the groundbreaking “horror-meets-metal extravaganza”,will take place at Emo’s in Austin, Texas from October 23rd to the 26th.

Although Anselmo hasn’t given any details yet about the event, he did say,

If people want to hear Superjoint jam a badass set, then we’re all for giving the people what they want! You wanna hear it? Then bring your asses t oAustin, Texas this October 23-26!”

In 2011 at the Sweden Rock Festival, Anselmo was asked about the possibility of a Superjoint Ritual reunion he replied,

Absolutely a hundred percent no fucking way. I know some people like that band, but there’s too many sour feelings, too much bad business and I don’t take steps backwards anymore, I’m fucking running forward. You hear me? Good.”

The band which was formed in the early 1990’s by Anselmo, Joe Fazzio and Jimmy Bower, were later joined by Hank Williams III, and Kevin Bond who released two albums, 2002’s Use Once and Destroy and 2003’s A Lethel Dose of American Hatred. The band finally split in late 2004 after a dispute between Anselmo and Fazzio.
