Knotfest is reported to be returning to America for three nights, October 24 through October 26, 2014 at the San Manuel Amphitheater & Campgrounds in San Bernardino, CA.
Slipknot, curators and main event at the festival, have announced 2014 lineup including Danzig, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage and many more, total over 60 bands. Slipknot themselves will headline both Saturday and Sunday nights with unique setlists. As reported by Rolling Stone, “all tickets also include a digital copy of the group’s upcoming fifth record on its yet-to-be revealed release date.”
Festival will include carnival rides, a zip line, drum circles, freaks, fire breathers and a Slipknot museum. Perhaps, the most significant and needful attraction is a Goat Petting Zoo – because every self-respective Maggot (as they call Slipknot fans) should be able to feed a goat when he’s around.
“Knotfest is a chance for Slipknot to bring the sensory-overload of a wild European festival – and now we’re coming for you, California,” Slipknot’s clown-masked percussionist M. Shawn Crahan said in a statement. “Playing two different sets over two nights at one location is a new experience in the history of this band.”
Slipknot started Knotfest in August 2012, based in Iowa and Wisconsin. This year is going to be festival’s second.
Slipknot’s upcoming album follows 2008 “All Hope Is Gone”, as well as the 2012 best-of compilation “Antennas to Hell”. Band’s future record will be the first since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and December 2013 parting ways with drummer Joey Jordison, one of the group’s founding members and key songwriters.
