Jason Mraz and Raining Jane will be performing a special acoustic show in support of their new album “YES!”, containing songs about love, friendship, healing, hope, and consciousness. Mraz is a singer-songwriter, social activist and philanthropist, focused on the environment, human rights, education and LGBT rights. He established the Jason Mraz Foundation in 2011 to assist charities in support of these causes.
Jason Mraz first came to prominence in San Diego playing coffeehouse shows. His debut album, Waiting for My Rocket to Come, contained his hit single “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry).” His second album, Mr. A-Z, was released in 2005 and achieved major commercial success. The album reached number five on the Billboard 200, and sold over 100,000 copies in the US alone.
In 2008, Mraz released his third studio album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The album hit number three on the Billboard 200, and was an international success. The single “I’m Yours” was his first top 10 single and peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The song spent a record 76 weeks on the the Hot 100 chart. The single also racked up two Grammy Awards among six nominations, and led Mraz to winning a prestigious Hal David Songwriter Hall of Fame Award. His fourth album, Love Is a Four Letter Word, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, which is his highest charting album to date.
