Clarence Greenwood, better known by his stage name, Citizen Cope, is an American Songwriter, producer and performer. His music reflects a mix of blues, soul, folk, and rock. Citizen Cope’s compositions have been recorded by artists including Carlos Santana, Dido, Pharoahe Monch, and Richie Havens. Greenwood currently records and produces for his own record label, Rainwater Recordings, which he founded in 2012. He has previously been signed to Capitol, Arista, Dreamworks, and RCA, and has toured professionally for over 10 years.

Citizen Cope’s 2006 album, Every Waking Moment, debuted at number 69 on the Billboard 200 chart. His LP, The Rainwater, was produced entirely by Greenwood. The LP received critical acclaim, which later led to an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he performed “Healing Hands” in 2012. His single “Let the Drummer Kick,” from his 2002 album, Citizen Cope, reached gold disc status by the R.I.A.A. His latest album is, One Lovely Day, which was released in 2012.

$1 per ticket sold will go to Turnaround Arts to purchase musical instruments for middle schoolers in Lame Deer, Montana—a community on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Lame Deer is part of Turnaround Arts, a program of President Obama’s President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities that is using arts education to help students succeed.
