Ziggy Marley @ The TLA 7/27

Tonight Damian Marley hits the stage (with Atmostphere) at The Electric Factory. Fans of the family and the genre will be pleased to hear that next month, you can catch his brother, Ziggy Marley, when he plays The TLA. Bringing their reggae sounds to our city, the Marley brothers will surely add a boost to your summer soundtrack. Join Ziggy when he arrives in Philly on 7/27!

While Damian Marley is the youngest son of Reggae Legend Bob Marley, Ziggy is the eldest, and perhaps the most famous. But he’s not just the son of Bob Marley. Ziggy’s talent stands on its own. The six-time Grammy winner released his first solo album in 2003. In 2006, he won a Grammy for his second album, Love is My Religion. He had previously won 3 Grammys for his work with his group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.

Ziggy Marley dropped his most recent album, Fly Rasta, in April of this year. Now he heads out on tour in support of the much anticipated release. Of the new album, Marley says, “This is not my father’s reggae. Reggae is also influenced by other music. It didn’t just appear out of nothing. This is Ziggy music. That’s what it really is.” And we’re certainly excited to hear some of that Ziggy music when he comes to Philly in July!
